A Little Island Adventure

“We need the tonic of wildness…At the same time that we are earnest to explore and learn all things, we require that all things be mysterious and unexplorable, that land and sea be indefinitely wild, unsurveyed and unfathomed by us because unfathomable. We can never have enough of nature.” ― Henry David Thoreau, Walden: Or, Life in the Woods

Slow & Steady

It does not matter how slow you go so long as you don’t stop– Wisdom of Confucius

Whether I like it or not this seems to be the philosophy I’ve been following with regards to obtaining a university degree. I feel like I’m on the 28 year plan, which essentially is true. My husband and I eloped all those years ago, and after raising three kids I’m just now back in school finishing my degree. I’m pleased to say I’m a junior, which is comical considering my age; but I’m enjoying myself despite the amount of homework.

Personally, I feel we’re all continuing to learn a lot of things throughout our lives and that’s a good thing. Think of how boring it would be to remain stagnant. Where there is movement there is life, even if it’s a slow and steady movement.

I can’t lie though…there are a lot of days where I’d rather be here-
